My Very Super Secret Blog

Piracy rant and how people don't actually care about ownership or preservation.

This is a constant thing I keep on seeing in piracy discussions. How piracy means "ownership" or like "preservation" and other pretentious shit. I've started to hate this sentiment amongst piracy because people act like they have a moral fucking high ground just for getting free shit. Like at least fucking admit that all you want is free shit! I want free shit too and I have no shame in pirating anything. If you feel so guilty that you need to justify your act by pretending that you are saying fuck you after big evil corpos then you might as well just not pirate. And then they go tell everyone about these sites which brings those sites at risk of being compromised as they are now too big to ignore. We all start somewhere yes but if you are so fucking stupid that you can't even navigate a megathread then reconsider piracy. If you find a site, Don't just fucking tell everyone in the open. That's like telling everyone where you can get cheap drugs.

And now here is the fun part. When people say that they pirate because of preservation and ownership? They are all lying. There has recently been a new way to play Denuvo games that isn't through cracking. Instead it is a service where someone basically "shares" the game with Denuvo in it. It is similar to Steam's Family Sharing but with Denuvo instead and it is a tedious fucking process where you have to wait until it is your turn to play the Denuvo game which is limited to FIVE PEOPLE!!! THAT IS NO WAY NEAR ENOUGH FOR A TON OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY DENUVO INFESTED GAMES!!! And worst part, Even the slightest change can trigger the Denuvo DRM and make it unavailable to play the game. It is a bullshit ass method and you neither own the game nor preserve it yet many people are still flocking to use it because they just want free shit. That's all there is to it and pretentious fuckers still insist there is a moral cause behind it.

"But that is just games! What about movies or books or documents" Pirate streaming. There are tons of pirated streaming sites out there with tons of stuff. You still own fucking nothing and preserve nothing using pirate streaming sites. They fucking SUCK! The only benefit to using them is less region lock. Otherwise they have the same problems as paid streaming services. Streaming always sucks and I hardly stream unless it is YouTube or only temporary. Guess what! People flock to them!

Now I care about preservation and ownership too. It is not like I don't and I understand there are a few good people who do really care. But piracy is not the answer. If you want actual change? Then boycott products and protest! It is not that hard. Then maybe the big evil corpos might start listening and preserve old games and give the ownership back to the consumer for once! Piracy changes nothing and it just proves there is still interest in their products. At least stop pretending that you have a moral reason for piracy. I happily pirate without needing any limits. You should too.
