"Old internet" glazers

I have a lot more to say in regards to nostalgia in general but I want to keep this short.

Hey you! yes you over there! Have you ever wonder what could possible be more glazed than the country of Japan? I will wait.

If you guessed that it's the "old internet", then ding ding ding! You are so correct. There are way too many people who just love to glaze the old internet so hard now and the most shocking thing is that it isn't even being called out.

In the case someone is wondering since y'know, I am part of the small web! Well, thats actually one of the things that actually prompted my growing dislike of "old internet" glazing. If you have been around on the small web for long enough, A lot of people here are very, very, retro 2000s Y2K coded as shit. And I fundamentally disagree with this sort of trend. The small web is about bringing back individuality in internet. But that's not the case. Instead we have this circlejerk of people who go "wow I miss the old days the new internet sucks" And there is zero nuance whatsoever.

It's even worse on the mainstream web. Do you know how much BS videos about the "old internet" there is? It's insane how much more mainstreams just jack off to the idea of the whole "old internet" thing despite the complete irony being that they are participating in said internet they have been complaining about. Everyone claims to pine for the old wild west of the internet but lets be honest, Most people are not willing to put in the effort into actually committing. It's nothing but pure blind nostalgia that people are going to throw away like the consumerists they are.

I am planning to make a longer blog of this topic soon since I have so much to say.
