It's stupid that believing poor people shouldn't have kids is considered offensive.
On the internet (Mainly Reddit because I am stupid), I've seen a lot of people say that saying that poor people shouldn't have children is EUGENICS or something.
Which is a really harsh accusation to make about something that I personally think is fairly logical (Besides, It only starts being eugenics if I want to force poor people to not have kids). If you can't support yourself then you probably shouldn't be raising children but a lot of poor people still have children and it's not just because people are having unprotected sex, That's just what some people claim but it goes way beyond that. At least in Asian cultures, the elderly have the highest priority so kids would be encouraged so that they would be able to take care of the elderly when they were older and so on and so forth and I know for a fact that my parents and their friends growing up were living in poverty so it's not like it applies to rich people.
But even then, Choosing to have kids when you don't have to financial resources to do so is beyond my capabilities. I just don't get why you would do that since you aren't doing yourself nor your kids a favour. Children are a blessing yes but it stops being a blessing the moment you choose to raise them in a shit environment and it's at that point, It just ends up being selfish. It's either cultural pressure (Which I wouldn't blame you for) or poorly disguised hedonism.
And no. I don't care about fertility rates either.
