Grandpa's Funeral (Pt. 2)
Yesterday my grandpa's actual funeral took place. I had to wake up at 6:00am so I could get to the funeral home by 8:00am. Apparently we had to do a few things before going to church for the funeral. I was assigned to carry my grandpa's photo and had to sit in the hearse. Before going to the church our family said their final goodbyes. I also had to go to my auntie's house so my uncles could walk around the house one more time before the funeral. At church I had to wait an additional 20 minutes before the funeral actually started because we had to prepare on the fly.
The funeral went mostly alright. There were 2 priests present at the funeral and there was supposed to be a 3rd one but he was picking up a bishop at the airport and there was a little fumble. I managed to read my part well though the microphone was in the way so I couldn't see the words. The priest also said I shouldn't be so close to the microphone because it's really sensitive.
After the funeral we had to go to the cremation site where my grandpa would be incinerated. I learned that day that you don't get to see the crematorium. The coffin is actually lowered down to the crematorium via a trapdoor. that surprised me. We will be getting his ashes in a few days from the time of writing this and then the ashes are going to be sent to Vietnam where they will be interred next to my grandma's ashes (Who died way before I was born).
I walked around the cremation site and found a vape on someone's grave. Like what the fuck? That's literally so disrespectful to just put a vape on someone's grave.
We also visited my cousin's grave who was unfortunately miscarried and payed respects there.
I hopped on my cousin's car home and he has an ass taste in music. Too much relationship-focus (I can not relate to them). Prefer something like Nightcall.
