A Doom Mod convinced me that video games are not art
Yes you heard right. I do not think games are art and I believe that games SHOULD NOT be art.
Why? you may ask, As the title suggests, It all traces back to a Doom mod. I sound like I am joking but it's actually true. The DOOM mod in question is called "DOOM: The Gallery Experience" that calls itself an art piece, But also showed me how pretentious art is. When I played the mod, I was like "Seriously? This is what art is?" It's total bullshit. It's funny but it does show it's point very well. That art is basically paintings and shit and nothing else.
And from then on, I did not want video games and art to be in the same sentence ever again. Because if that was "art", Then I don't want games to be like that.
